Summer — Rose Season: Love and Becoming

Rose Season

June marks the beginning of summer and the season of the rose.

The rose reminds us that becoming is a gradual unfolding. From bud to bloom, it is shaped by sunlight, rain, time, and the environment around it.

Perhaps we are a bit similar.

This season invites us to notice how the things we connect with shape who we are becoming.

When we love the land beneath our feet and care for the places entrusted to us, that care becomes an outward expression of who we are. The things we nurture often leave their mark on us in return.

While the heart of Maple Prairie is slow living, the root of that intention is connection and belonging. We slow down not simply for the sake of slowing down, but to make room for what matters most.

To notice.

To gather.

To care.

To connect.

Because connection helps us grow roots.

And belonging is what happens when those roots deepen.

Perhaps belonging is knowing that our lives are part of a story larger than ourselves—a story carried through places, relationships, memories, and generations.

Like the rose, we continue unfolding throughout our lives, shaped by what we love and by those who walk beside us.

May this season invite you to notice what is taking root, what is being nurtured, and who you are becoming.

Leaving the light on,

April
